What on Earth are FTA Receivers?

FTA Receivers

I am going to admit that I just discovered this information and could not wait to share it. I am one of those people who try to learn at least one thing new each day. Well, that is not always the best plan. If I don’t pass on my newly acquired knowledge, I find that it drifts away quickly. So, today our topic of interest is FTA Receivers.

FTA stands for Free-to-Air. That does not really explain anything yet, does it? Okay, in simple terms, they are devices that are created to work with a satellite dish to pick up satellite broadcasts that are not encrypted, which are also called clear channels.

There are a lot of satellites in orbit around the planet that provide free radio and television signals. The FTA receiver takes these signals and decodes them so that they become viewable programs and radio broadcasts for your home.

There are many different brands of FTA receivers, so you want to find the right place that will answer all of your questions before you buy anything. You will also want to familiarize yourself with the different features available and which are the ones that you will require.

Each brand seems to have features that are unique so you need to shop for the features you want. Will you be able to upgrade the equipment later? Does it have really good audio quality for those of us who want the music as well as the television features?

I have read a lot about these receivers and there really seems to be only one negative aspect. Sometimes channels that have been unencrypted for a length of time will suddenly become encrypted, causing you to lose that programming. However, since you have access to thousands of viewing and listening options, I don’t see this as a real downside.

The receivers are relatively inexpensive, so they are pretty much available to everyone. I am going to look into which brand is the best fit for my family. I like the idea of the one-time equipment purchase and no monthly bills to follow. Plus, let’s be honest, I finally figured out how to program the clock on my DVD player. I think that makes me highly qualified to move up in the technological world.

From all the research I’ve done, FTA is the ground breaking new leader in the satellite industry. No one else offers completely free programming. There are no hidden fees or taxes and I can enjoy television shows from around the world. I will get more channels than any other satellite provider can give me. The best part of FTA is that it is one less bill to pay each month. After I buy the equipment, I enjoy all the television I want for no more expense. In today’s economy, I’m cutting corners every time I get a chance, so I’m excited to save money and get great entertainment with FTA’s system.
